My Bespoke Room is an award-winning, professional and easy-to-use online interior design service; offering flat fee room design packages from just £95 per room.

Co-founders Laura and Diana met back in 2004 when they both worked for L’Oreal and bonded over a love for renovating properties and interior design. Laura was a product design engineer and also worked for large corporates such as Apple. Diana has a business commerce background and is a marketing expert.

Laura commenting on the businesses inception said “It was evident that public interest in renovation and interior design was growing- from the pictures of interiors filling Instagram feeds through to the increases in sales of online furniture. Interestingly we noticed, as public interest in decorating was increasing the use of interior designers in home refurbs was plummeting. Traditional designers were perceived by the public as inaccessible or expensive and we wanted to help change that.

After many long nights and conversations plotting and planning their business idea the plan came to fruition and MyBespokeRoom was launched as a tech enabled interior design business designed to create efficiencies and in-turn savings which are passed on to the end user, while driving business and customers for freelancer designers.

Like many start-up founders, MyBespokeRoom were focused on getting their aspirations to market but they understood that the company finances would be an important part of running the business and future growth. As any entrepreneur will know, running a fast-growth start up comes with a raft of responsibilities and a whole wardrobe of hats and the finance should be a consideration.

Laura said of her accounting requirements “We knew we needed to get our accounting and finances right at business inception to support the day to day management and so that we’re prepared for future growth such as securing further investment or expanding internationally.

In the infancy of MyBespokeRoom we worked with a few small accounting practices and quickly outgrew their set up. We wanted a partner that could ensure we had a tech enabled day to day function offer strategic financial advice to grow the business,

After going out to market with their requirements. MyBespokeRoom selected Deloitte Propel and opted for Propel Pro, a full suite of accounting and tax services for SMEs.

MyBespokeRoom felt the tech-enabled approach to managing a finance function combined with having the additional support of a finance expert would be well suited as the business scaled and evolved.

Initially Deloitte Propel reviewed existing financial processes and helped to implement the most appropriate and hassle-free tech-enabled accounting software and business insights dashboard and provide the MyBespokeRoom with regular support and advice from their dedicated Deloitte Propel Finance Expert and management reports.

Commenting on Deloitte Propel in the capacity of accounting provider, Laura said “We enjoy working with Deloitte Propel and their dedicated financial expert, the transition of working with a new accountant has been smooth and that the real time visibility of having our finances in the cloud and dashboard combined with the management reports allow us to get insights on past performance & future performance, all of which helps to underpin the businesses growth strategy.
